Notes on establishing a practice, acquiring materials, and enhancing introspection.
I’ve been focusing on personal goals lately, and journaling has been one of them. I promised myself I would build a new website in 2026. I knew that when I did, I would need site content in addition to portfolio material. So, at the beginning of the year, I also committed to blogging every two weeks.
Having a journal was a fresh opportunity for me to express my passions, so it seemed like a relatively easy task.
I created an editorial and content calendar and began mapping out a direction for the content that would reflect my influences and inspiration throughout my creative journey. Six months later, I realize that this practice has evolved beyond just a simple publishing rhythm.
Looking back, I see patterns shaped by the idea that creativity is less about waiting for inspiration and more about cultivating practices that keep me attuned to the world. The journal has become a place where seemingly unrelated personal threads can be woven together.
One lesson that this bi-weekly journaling has reinforced is that creativity is shaped as much by everyday practice as by moments of inspiration.
These posts have also helped me document not just what I’ve been creating or thinking about, but also what I’m gradually learning about how I want to live and work creatively, which was a bit shocking as it was unintentional.
For instance, it used to make me uncomfortable to share my process, whether it was unfinished work or just a general technique. When I think about the creatives I admire, it’s always with a curiosity about their working conditions, not just the final product.
I’ve always been told to “show your work,” and this has provided ample opportunity for me to share my progress and current efforts. Through doing so, I’ve become much more comfortable with the process and consider how it may impact me when generating new content for both my portfolio and the journal in the future.

Speaking of which, I am also working on my next exhibition. As a result, I am developing a new series of works using a reduced vocabulary of lines and circles, along with a limited palette, to evoke movement, growth, and organic energy.
By repeating and distorting simple forms, I aim to create compositions that feel vital and alive, hovering between geometry and nature, structure and flow.
I’m thankful that I started this journal, and see these entries beginning to tell a larger personal story. For this next stretch, I’m looking to build on that foundation. As I take some time to reflect on what I intend to contribute in the next six months, I can’t help but wonder how this journal will continue to evolve.
My goal is to create a space that explores how creative life is shaped by influence, attention, emotion, discipline, and everyday practice. I want to establish a connection between influence and process. I’m working on developing new types of content, and there might be a few missed weeks of entries, but there will still be new updates in the work section and in general.
Six months later, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have started this journey. I’m excited to continue, and I want to express my appreciation for taking the time to consider my art and inspirations. If this is your first time visiting and you haven’t had a chance to take a look around.
I hope you find something that piques your interest, and if you do, let me know.
